VOICES OF CHILDREN

Unicef

This project was created by the European Union and UNICEF to help raise the voices of children who are living through humanitarian emergencies, and who are not being listened to.

LEND THEM YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA VOICE, SO THAT THEY CAN SHARE THEIR STORIES THROUGH YOU.

HOW TO LEND YOUR VOICE

LEND YOUR VOICE TO AYA. (CLICK HERE)

AYA’S VOICE

Aya has got a story to tell. She is one of 1.4 million Syrian children who had to flee to neighboring countries because of the war. She left everything, including her friends and grandparents.

Until today, not many were listening to Aya. But now you can do something for her.

LEND YOUR VOICE TO AYA AND HELP HER TELL HER STORY THROUGH YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA PROFILES.

LEND YOUR VOICE TO CHAMSIA. (CLICK HERE)

CHAMSIA'S VOICE

Chamsia has got a story to tell. Floods and droughts have brought hunger to her country, Niger. She can only feed her family once every two days, and her little daughter has begun to suffer from malnutrition.

Until today, not many were listening to Chamsia. But now you can do something for her.

LEND YOUR VOICE TO CHAMSIA AND HELP HER TELL HER STORY THROUGH YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA PROFILES.

LEND YOUR VOICE TO MICHEL. (CLICK HERE)

MICHEL'S VOICE

Michel is 13 and he has a story to tell. He was born in San Roque (Philippines) and one day he lost everything. The typhoon took away his school and even his teacher, who got trapped in her house and drowned.

Until today, not many were listening to Michel. But now you can do something for him.

LEND YOUR VOICE TO MICHEL AND HELP HIM TELL HIS STORY THROUGH YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA PROFILES.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Voices of Children in Emergencies campaign is a joint initiative between the EU and UNICEF that highlights the situation of millions of children who are affected by natural disasters or conflicts. And it does so by giving some of them the opportunity to tell their stories through you. Pick one story from the menu above and lend these children your voice. Learn more about the work done by the EU and UNICEF in humanitarian emergencies through the infographics included in this section. You can also watch this video with Kristalina Georgieva (European Commissioner for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response), and Anthony Lake (UNICEF Executive Director).

Along with its international version, the "Voices of children" campaign has been adapted to 6 EU countries, where it is presented by a national celebrity in the local language: Greece, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Slovenia and Spain.
